Description:

RIIWHS202D Enter and work in confined spaces
This unit covers the entering and working in confined spaces in resources and infrastructure industries. It includes planning and preparing for entry of confined spaces; entry and working in confined spaces, exiting confined spaces and cleaning up.

MSMPER205 Enter confined space
This competency covers the entry to confined spaces, for maintenance, cleaning, inspection or other necessary reasons. Work in/entry to confined spaces shall conform to relevant legislation and AS2865, or its authorised update or replacement.

MSMPER200 Work in accordance with an issued permit
This unit aims to ensure that people working under a permit to work understand the system, know the limitations of the permit under which they are working and comply with all the requirements of the permit.
The people to whom this unit applies may be called permit recipients' or permit holders' by some organisations. Some organisations call permits' clearances'.

Assessment:

The course will be based on theoretical sessions, equipment demonstrations and practical exercises.

Entry Requirements:

Writing is required to the level of completing workplace forms and producing reports.
Numeracy is required to the level of being able to correctly differentiate between high and low pressures and temperatures, voltages or masses.

Pre-requisite MSAPMPER200B Work in accordance with an issued permit (this will be attained during the course – MSMPER200 supersedes and is equivalent to MSAPMPER200B)
