The purpose of this course is to provide participants with necessary skills and practical knowledge to secure cargo including preparing to secure cargo/containers, lashing and unlashing cargo, protecting cargo from weather, and packing and unpacking cargo. It may apply in cargo securing contexts in the stevedoring, transport, distribution and allied industries.

This 1 day in depth courses covers the requirements of securing loads to utes, trucks, trailers, freight containers or any vehicle that transports goods by road in Western Australia.
The load restraint course is suitable for all vehicle drivers, freight handlers and company mangers/supervisors in charge of transport operations.
The course will be based on theoretical sessions, equipment demonstrations and practical exercises.
Students who are deemed competent will receive a Statement of Attainment recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework. This certification is nationally recognised. The Statement is issued by Riklan Emergency Management Services (RTO 51994)
There are no prerequisites, although it is expected candidates hold a current drivers licence
Equipment and Materials:
Students must wear enclosed shoes.
Mode of Delivery:
Face to face and practical hands-on training in a simulated environment conducted by an experienced instructor with strong knowledge of relevant legislation and Australian Standards.
