PFA _CPR – Provide First Aid & Provide CPR Cluster

Purpose:

This course cluster describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty, and to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC). These units apply to all workers who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, life support, management of casualty(s)until the arrival of medical or other assistance.

Description:

• Perform CPR procedures
• Communicate details of the incident

Assessment:

Participants will be assessed throughout the 1 day course and will need to have completed the following in order to be deemed competent:
• Satisfactorily completed all questionnaires within the manual.
• Complete the theory exam to the satisfaction of the training facilitator
• Successfully completed all tasks allocated within the practical scenarios
• Showed considerable knowledge in the application of equipment & techniques covered within this course

Entry Requirements:

4 hours pre-reading of the course manual prior to course commencement is required.
