OFA – Occupational First Aid Skill Set (HLTSS00027)

Occupational first aid provides participants with the skills and knowledge to be able to establish, maintain and facilitate the provision of first aid in the workplace.

Who is this course recommended for?
• Workplace first aiders, or those responsible for first aid rooms and facilities; and
• Those who wish to complete a HLT31215 Certificate III in Basic Health Care or HLT41115 Certificate IV in Health Care.

This course is an extension of the skills learned in the HLTAID003 Provide first aid course and provides participants with the skills to be able to establish, maintain and facilitate the provision of first aid in the workplace.

COST: $500 per person

On successful completion of this course you will be issued a Certificate in:
– HLTSS00027 Occupational first aid skill set
which consists of the following units of competency:
– HLTAID006 Provide advanced first aid

PFA_4UNIT – Provide First Aid and Provide Advanced Resuscitation

This first aid course covers a broad range of topics to enable participants to confidently manage emergency situations and provide a first aid response to a casualty. It is suitable to both people in workplaces and members of the public who want training in first aid as well as the skills and knowledge required to use specialised equipment in the provision of resuscitation (eg: OxyViva 3)

It is recommended in line with the Australian Resuscitation guidelines that first aid skills are renewed at least every three years and CPR skills every 12 months.

CPR_LV – Perform rescue from a live LV panel & Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

The purpose of this course cluster is to provide participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform rescue procedures from live low Voltage (LV) apparatus, not including overhead lines and underground cables in the work place, and to perform CPR in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines. It specifies the mandatory requirements of rescue from a live LV panel and how they apply in the context of transmission, distribution or rail work functions.

PFA_3Unit – Provide First Aid Cluster (HLTAID001, HLTAID002, HLTAID003)

This course cluster describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid
response to a casualty, and to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC).

These units apply to all workers who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, life support, management of casualty(s)until the arrival of medical or other assistance.

This course was previously known as Senior First Aid.

This one day Provide First Aid course provides an excellent general grounding in first aid and will enable you to perform appropriate first aid procedures and basic life support skills. This unit satisfies training requirements across a range of community and workplace settings.

Completion of online pre-learning is required prior to arrival at the class.

This course is recommended for:
• Anyone wanting to learn essential first aid skills,
• Those wanting a first aid certificate for work purposes.

Successful completion of this first aid training will result in the attainment of:

HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
HLTAID002 Provide basic emergency life support
HLTAID003 Provide first aid

PATH – Collect Specimens for Drugs of Abuse Testing
