Wildfire Suppression (1) Apply
Description

The purpose of this course is to provide participants with the necessary skills and practical knowledge on how to effectively respond to a wildfire, apply appropriate fire control strategies and safe work practices to extinguish a wild fire, work as a safe and situationally-aware member of a crew to attack and extinguish a fire, participate in mop-up and patrol operations, and prepare equipment for the next crew.

Duration

The course will be conducted over three (3) days

Entry Requirements

The prerequisites for this cluster of units are:
PUAFIR204 - Respond to Wildfire
PUAFIR210 - Prevent Injury
Both pre-requisites are delivered in conjunction with the package

Language, literacy and numeracy requirements from the unit are:
- Writing is required to the level of completing written assessments.
- Numeracy is required to enable the determination of similar activities.

Delivery Mode

Face to face and practical hands-on training conducted by an experienced Emergency Services Assessor with a strong knowledge of relevant Legislation and Australian Standards.

Materials or Equipment Required

Students must wear long pants, long sleeve shirts and steel cap boots.

Notes

If you are a new or continuing student undertaking Nationally recognised training, you will need a USI in order to receive your Qualification or Statement of Attainment.
