Description: | This first aid course covers a broad range of topics to enable participants to confidently manage emergency situations and provide a first aid response to a casualty. It is suitable to both people in workplaces and members of the public who want training in first aid as well as the skills and knowledge required to use specialised equipment in the provision of resuscitation (eg: OxyViva 3)
It is recommended in line with the Australian Resuscitation guidelines that first aid skills are renewed at least every three years and CPR skills every 12 months.

Assessment: | The course will be based on theoretical sessions, equipment demonstrations and practical exercises.
Students who are deemed competent will receive a Statement of Attainment recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework. This certification is nationally recognised. The Statement is issued by Riklan Emergency Management Services (RTO 51994)

Entry Requirements: | 4 hours pre-reading as supplied by RIKLAN
Language, literacy and numeracy requirements from the unit are:
- Writing is required to the level of completing written assessments.
- Numeracy is required to enable the determination of similar activities.
