Description

The purpose of this course is to provide participants with the necessary skills and practical knowledge on how to prepare and respond to a rescue situation, contribute to a risk assessment at the rescue scene, perform the rescue and conclude rescue operations

Entry Requirements

The prerequisites for this cluster of units of competency are:
-HLTAID003 Provide first aid
And
-PUAFIR210 Prevent injury (being delivered in conjunction with the cluster)

Qualification Requirements

Each successful participant will be issued a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment for:
PUASAR022 Participate in a Rescue Operation
PUAEQU001 Prepare, Maintain and Test Response Equipment
PUAFIR210 Prevent Injury

Assessment Requirements

The course will be based on theoretical sessions, equipment demonstrations and practical exercises.

Delivery Mode

Face to face and practical hands-on training conducted by an experienced Emergency Services instructor with strong knowledge of relevant legislation and Australian Standards.

Materials or Equipment Required

Students must wear long pants, long sleeve shirts and steel cap boots.

Notes

If you are a new or continuing student undertaking nationally recognised training, you need a USI in order to receive your qualification or statement of attainment for this unit.
