Confined Space & Gas Testing Cluster
This course is suitable if you work, or are responsible for people who work, in confined spaces, this course is designed to provide you with the appropriate skills and knowledge to test the working atmosphere using electronic test apparatus and enter and work in confined spaces. Topics covered include:
– Plan and prepare for working in a confined spaces.
– Obtain entry permit and instructions.
– Recognise and assess conditions that require testing.
– Take readings and interpret data
– Interpret and applying safe work methods.
– Apply tagging and lock out procedures.
– Select PPE applicable to all tasks.
– Use atmospheric monitoring devices prior to entering the confined space and during confined space activity.
– Perform work in the confined space.
– Identify hazards and apply control measures.
– Exit the confined space and remove tagging and lock out
– Clean and maintain equipment.
Conduct Telescopic Materials Handler Operations
This course covers the skills and knowledge required to conduct telescopic materials handler operations. This course applies to those working in site-based roles.
Chlorine Gas Handling
This course is designed for operators with a specific responsibility for disconnecting and connecting liquefied chlorine gas containers in water and wastewater treatment plants. The unit of competency covers the skills and knowledge required to monitor and operate liquefied chlorine gas disinfection processes.
Chief Fire Warden Cluster
The purpose of this course is to cover the competency required to make decision about people’s safety during a workplace emergency and to give instructions on the priority order for responding to the emergency incident area.
