This qualification reflects the role of response and rescue team members who work in a Mine site or a construction site, who perform tasks involving a broad range of skilled applications applied in a wide variety of contexts, which may involve application of some discretion and judgement in selecting equipment, services or contingency measure.

Description:

This qualification reflects the role of response and rescue team members who work on a Mine site or a construction site, who perform tasks involving a broad range of skilled applications applied in a wide variety of contexts, which may involve application of some discretion and judgement in selecting equipment, services or contingency measure.

Assessment:

The course will be based on theoretical sessions, equipment demonstrations and practical exercises.

Entry Requirements:

Some of the courses listed have pre-requisite requirements, in most cases the pre-requisites are covered during the training. The pre-requisite units attached to any core or elective units must be obtained and are additional to the number of units required for this qualification.

Qualification Requirements:

Successful completion of sixteen (16) units of competency made up of:

-Four (4) core units, and
-Twelve (12) elective units of which:

- One (1) must be chosen from group A
-At least eight (8) must be chosen from group B
- One (1) may be chosen from group C
- Up to two (2) may come from Certificate II, Certificate III or Certificate IV level from this, or any other Training Package or accredited course.

Units chosen must be relevant to the job function. There are prerequisites to imported units listed in this qualification. Where a unit is imported as an elective care must be taken to ensure that all prerequisites specified are complied with. RIIGOV201D Comply with site work processes/procedure is a mandatory requirement for those working in Coal Mining.
