This course is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills to respond to an emergency situation by providing first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation and maintaining basic emergency life support.

This course cluster describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid
1 day - 8 hours (with pre-course reading material)
It is a requirement of this course that for the practical demonstration of CPR, you must be able to kneel comfortably on the floor.
Assessment is through a combination of practical first aid activities, written activities and a written test paper.
You will be required to demonstrate CPR on a manikin on the floor.
Face to face and practical hands-on training conducted by an experienced Emergency Services instructor with strong knowledge of relevant legislation and Australian Standards.

If you are a new or continuing student undertaking nationally recognised training, you need a USI in order to receive your qualification or statement of attainment for this unit.
