Description

This course was previously known as Senior First Aid.

This one day Provide First Aid course provides an excellent general grounding in first aid and will enable you to perform appropriate first aid procedures and basic life support skills. This unit satisfies training requirements across a range of community and workplace settings.

Completion of online pre-learning is required prior to arrival at the class.

This course is recommended for:
• Anyone wanting to learn essential first aid skills,
• Those wanting a first aid certificate for work purposes.

Successful completion of this first aid training will result in the attainment of:

HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
HLTAID002 Provide basic emergency life support
HLTAID003 Provide first aid

COST: $150 per person

Purpose

This course cluster describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid
response to a casualty, and to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC).

Duration

The course will be conducted over 1 day, 4 hours pre-reading of the course manual prior to course commencement is required.

Entry Requirements

Language, literacy and numeracy requirements from the unit are:
- Writing is required to the level of completing written assessments.
- Numeracy is required to enable the determination of similar activities.

Assessment Requirements

Assessment is through a combination of practical first aid activities, written activities and a written test paper.

You will be required to demonstrate CPR on a manikin on the floor.

If you are a new or continuing student undertaking nationally recognised training, you need a USI in order to receive your qualification or statement of attainment for this unit.
