|
The Skid Steer Loader Operator course provides information and guided practice that will equip experienced operators with the skills necessary to demonstrate competence to the minimum national certification standards and to lay the foundation skills of new operators so that they can, in a safe manner, continue to improve their skills and proficiency whilst operating the machine.
The course is aligned to the nationally recognised unit RIIMPO318F- Conduct civil construction skid steer loader operations, which specifies the outcomes required including planning and preparation for work, the conduct of operational checks, the safe and effective operation of the machine for a range of mandatory tasks, the fitting, use and removal of attachments and operator maintenance activities. |

This course is suitable if you work, or are responsible for people who work, in confined spaces, this course is designed to provide you with the appropriate skills and knowledge to test the working atmosphere using electronic test apparatus and enter and work in confined spaces. Topics covered include:
- Plan and prepare for working in a confined spaces.
- Obtain entry permit and instructions.
- Recognise and assess conditions that require testing.
- Take readings and interpret data
- Interpret and applying safe work methods.
- Apply tagging and lock out procedures.
- Select PPE applicable to all tasks.
- Use atmospheric monitoring devices prior to entering the confined space and during confined space activity.
- Perform work in the confined space.
- Identify hazards and apply control measures.
- Exit the confined space and remove tagging and lock out
- Clean and maintain equipment. |

This Nationally Recognised training equips participants with skills and knowledge to shift loads using manual handling methods, including planning, risk assessment and relocating the load according to the plan.
It includes compliance with safety legislation and principles of safe lifting. It also covers moving loads as part of day-to-day work, performed under some supervision, generally within a team environment. |

Gantry (Overhead) Crane Cluster
|
This course covers the skills and knowledge required to conduct lifting operations by operating a gantry or overhead crane which is controlled by pendant or wireless remote. This training qualifies you to operate a gantry or overhead crane with three (3) or less powered motions, where hoist/raise and lower is one operation.
Short/Cross travel is one motion; Long/Length travel is a second motion; and Hoist raise or Hoist lower is a third motion.
IMPORTANT: This course does not cover the requirements for a gantry or overhead crane with four (4) or more powered motions. A High Risk Work Licence (class CB) is required for this type of crane. |
